Bring the thread to the front of your work, slightly to the right of the base of the flower. Take the needle through the back of the flower, making sure you don’t insert it into the fabric, and pull the thread through to form a loop. Take the needle and thread through the loop to form at knot, then work a straight stitch to create a stem. Take the needle to the back of the work and secure.
