Homespun 2022 BOM – Bonheur de Jour: Summary of Important Corrections to Note

Thank you to all our quilters sewing along with the Homespun BOM Bonheur de Jour. Since publishing Part 1 in Homespun 23.2 April 2022, we have made a number of corrections to the pattern and instructions. You can now find all corrections here on one place to help you complete the project with ease.

The corrections are listed below in reference to each issue of Homespun magazine that has released a part of the BOM.

Homespun #23.2 April 2022: Part 1

Updates to the Fabric Requirements in your Kits

1. If you have purchased a Kit:

–          If you have purchased a kit for the BOM you will find that the fabric requirements in the kit do not match the Materials list in this issue releasing Part 1 of the BOM.

–          The difference is that the lengths advised in the kits are frugal, and it may be a tight fit to cut all the shapes you need.

–          Please refer to and use this updated Cutting Guide, to ensure you are able to cut all the shapes from the fabric in your kit.

2. If you have not purchased a Kit and are working from your stash, please refer to the Materials list in the magazine as published. That is correct.

Homespun #23.3 June 2022: Part 2

Updates to the Pattern Sheet and Shapes in the Magazine

–          In this issue we published the instructions and pattern sheet for Block 2, 3 and 4.

–          Unfortunately, the pattern shapes in the magazine for Block 2 and Block 4 are incorrect – they were printed with ¼in seam allowance and were supposed to be printed without the seam allowance.

–          The 1in hexagon for Block 3 is correct as printed in the magazine.

–          Please use the amended pattern pieces downloadable here

Homespun #23.4 August 2022: Part 3

Updates to the Pattern Shapes in the Magazine

–          An incorrect reference to the pattern shapes for the stars was made in the introduction – where it was advised that 2in diamond papers could be used. However, the actual pattern shapes on the Pattern Sheet are Parallelograms – not diamonds.

–          Strictly speaking, an Eight-Pointed Star made with EPP method CAN be made with 2in diamond papers. However, the star shape will be different.

–          By using the pattern shapes printed in the magazine you will replicate the quilt as shown in the magazine.

Thank you for taking the time to note these corrections. Once made the Project will be easy to complete. Again, we apologise for the frustrations that these errors may have caused. We hope you continue to enjoy your BOM sewing journey and importantly, while sewing along with the others in our BOM Facebook Group you can share your ideas and suggestions along the way and benefit by each other’s skills and support.
