Starting at the centre of the shape to be filled, work a row of closely spaced, even-sized straight stitches as shown in the diagram, stepping them up and down half the length of the stitches. Stitch the rows either side of the foundation row in the same way to form a solid, vertical brick pattern. Work half-length stitches at the edges to finish filling the shape.
