Stitch Steps: Cast-on stitch (single)

Cast-on stitch is related to bullion stitch, but instead of simple wraps, each wrap is individually looped around the shaft of the needle to give a more textural effect to the stitch. It ends up looking a little bit like a buttonhole loop. The stitch can be worked flat, curved or looped and makes lovely three-dimensional petals, feathers, flower centres and more.
